Sarah P. Bradley Ombudsman and Chief Executive Officer
Tell us about yourself and your background?
I grew up in Ontario and began my career here,
and although I’ve enjoyed spending the last several
years living by the ocean in Halifax, I’m happy to
be back in my home province. I’m a lawyer by
training. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from
the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws
from Queen’s University.
After law school, I practiced in Toronto for a few years
focusing on wealth management, estate planning
and tax law before pursuing an academic dream
and getting a Master of Laws degree from Harvard
Law School where I focused on corporate law and
governance. From there I moved to Nova Scotia
where I practiced corporate and securities law and
joined the faculty of Dalhousie Law School (now the
Schulich School of Law). I taught and researched
there in the areas of securities law, corporate finance
OBSI as Ombudsman
and Chief Executive
Officer in mid-September,
2015. Prior to this,
Ms. Bradley served as
the Chair and CEO at the
Nova Scotia Securities
Commission.
