International Women’s Day
on March 8, 2012
The EMDA raised awareness about EMDs and celebrated
International Women’s Day by reaching out to female business
owners and entrepreneurs to help connect them to finance
experts who can help build and expand their businesses.
Jacoline Loewen, an EMDA Director and the keynote speaker,
encouraged female business owners to better communicate their
growth ambitions to investors. She explained how EMDs can help
advise companies on financing and sourcing the capital businesses
require to grow.
The event also featured a panel of successful women
entrepreneurs: Marissa McTasney, President of Moxie Trades;
Chioma, Publisher and Founder of AMOI magazine; and Marilyn
Sinclair, President of WorldCheck and iContent.
This event was organized in partnership with the City of
Toronto, Enterprise Toronto, Company of Women, Ernst & Young,
MicroSkills and WEConnect Canada.
